Evaluation on a Mount of Olives terrace. Sample first. Data recovery only if the answer was yes.
Was a terrace scatter worth more work, or could it close after a measured sample?
A terrace scatter had been flagged on an earlier walkover (not the Emek Tzurim store file). Evaluation asks whether it is worth more work. We did not skip that question because a season would have been easier to staff.
Nine contexts in a measured sample. Sheet, photograph, Harris. The written answer was close: the deposit was not worth data recovery under the license as it stood. The sample was packed for the named archive so the decision can be read later.
Closing a site in writing is still a file. It is not a failure.
Where the file went
Named archive for the lifted sample
Regional place only. The rest belongs to the director, the license, and the named archive.
Send the site or district, what you already know, and a deadline. We will say if a trench would not answer the question. We record to the excavation license. We do not issue it.

Kidron Valley slope, Jerusalem. Salvage recording on an eroding Kidron slope ahead of winter wash.
City of David, Jerusalem. A monitor on the machine during open-cut utilities beside a recorded scatter.
