Grey literature for a Silwan season that included wet contexts and a timber lift.
Could a wet-context season be written so a later conservator and a later archaeologist were reading the same numbers?
A Silwan season had wet contexts and a timber lift (the packing file is separate). The license holder needed grey literature that a conservator and a later archaeologist could both use.
Eleven weeks after the field file closed. Wet contexts are called out so nobody treats them as dry bags. The timber object number matches the conservator’s intake. Drawings and photographs name the same contexts as the sheets.
The report is not on this website. Work here is a regional case study only.

Send the site or district, what you already know, and a deadline. We will say if a trench would not answer the question. We record to the excavation license. We do not issue it.
