Temporary hold on loose facing at Sultan’s Pool. Not a reconstruction.
Could loose facing be held through a season of visitors without a reconstruction that the license does not allow?
Loose facing on a historic wall at Sultan’s Pool, above a path that still takes visitors. The license did not allow a reconstruction. First aid is a hold, a photograph, and a list of what we would not pretend to rebuild.
Four days on the face. What was loose was held so it would not fall on the path. What needed a mason and a different paper was written down and left. The path stayed closed until the director said otherwise.
We are not a monuments authority. We do not “restore” a wall because a photograph would look better.
Where the file went
Condition file with the director
Regional place only. The rest belongs to the director, the license, and the named archive.
Send the site or district, what you already know, and a deadline. We will say if a trench would not answer the question. We record to the excavation license. We do not issue it.
